Jesus Christ would be the Son of God

One of the titles Jesus Christ is known as is the Son of God:  This is because in Psalm 2 verse 7 God said that He would be.  King David is thought to be this particular Psalmist which would date it around 1000bc:-

Psalms 2:7, I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are My Son; today I have become your Father.

Once again the book of Matthew confirms this:-

Matthew chapter 3 verse 17, And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Jesus Christ would be anointed with the Holy Spirit of God.

Some 690 years previously the prophet Isaiah wrote about God’s Spirit anointing Jesus:-

Isaiah chapter 11 verse 2, The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him (Jesus) – the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD –

Isaiah chapter 61 verse 1, The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me (Jesus), because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

This anointing was also recorded in Psalm 45 which is attributed to the sons of Korah who were put in charge of the music in the Temple by king David (1 Chronicles chapter 6).  Which means Psalm 45 was written some 1000 years bc.

Psalms 45 verses 7-8, You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.  All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.

Once again Matthew records these predictions coming true:-

Matthew chapter 3 verse 16, As soon as Jesus was baptized; he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.

Matthew chapter 11 verses 4-5,  Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf  hear, the dead are raised and the good news is preached to the poor.”

Other books of the New Testament also show these predictions from so long ago coming true.  Like the book of John written around 80ad:-

John chapter 3 verse 34, For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

And also in the book of Acts written by Luke around 60ad:-

Acts chapter 10 verse 38, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Jesus Christ would be The King.

Psalm 2 written by king David somewhere around 1000bc records God predicting that Jesus would be a king.

Psalm 2 verse 6, “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill.”

We can read in John (believed to have been written about 80ad) where Jesus indeed claimed to be a king

John chapter 18 verses 33-37, Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”  “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”  “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”  Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.”  “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Matthew also records the Magi referring to Jesus as the king of the Jews:-

Matthew chapter 2 verses 1-2, After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”
