I lost You Lord for 7 days
i’m not clear how it started,
It could be that i looked away
or did something half-hearted.

No matter how it came about,
i’ve ended up with less
It’s thinking i’m ok alone
that leaves me in this mess.

You were in the background of
my dark and muddled mind,
I couldn’t see my way to you,
for ‘selfish’ made me blind.

How could it take me 7 days
to realise losing You?
I should have woke and turned my head
oh – somewhere in day 2!

The number 7 usually means
‘complete’ as a rule,
yet typically for me, it means
that i’m a complete fool!

Oh Lord, i shouldn’t up and leave
or let my heart run wild,
and now, the first in 7 days
i’ve well and truely smiled.
