Oh Lord do not give up on me

I do not what you ask of me

I even pray resentfully

Just do not Lord let go of me

Of all the lesser, I am less

I won’t repent so I don’t confess

Supposedly reborn how strange

I have the choice but do not change

LORD? just checking that you’re still there

I fear You the most yet take the dare

Where is my conscience, I’m not fighting it out

Not wanting the proof of the self doubt

Refusing the pain to face up and surrender

This smile should cover this hopeless pretender

Are you still there Father? Will You keep bearing with me

I am not fully sorry so please don’t forgive me

About to return to my vomit once more

I’m turning from Christ and the love of Your law

LORD? Just checking that You’re listening still

You witness my heart that I’m spiritually ill

I will need a way out yet I don’t want to see one

But You are still here so I know You will be one

So, worry can wait and fear need not be

You’re here for this reason to free me from me
